What Does it Mean to Increase Total Reps?
You may see instructions for an exercise to increase total reps. This can be as straightforward as adding one or two reps per set, or even as subtle as adding just one rep for any given set, for instance.
So let's say you perform three sets of 10 for a specific exercise, totaling 30 reps. If you just added one more rep for any set, next time, your total reps will increase to 31 this would suffice. However, how you achieve it is totally up to you.
Say, even if you did a set of 15 followed by a set of 10 and then instead of six totaling 31 reps, this would be perfectly fine, as long as you increase your total reps by at least one.
